Art has always been a major part of my life; the time spent painting gives me great joy and is an escape from the everyday stresses of our fast-moving, troubled, world. The journey of teaching has given me the opportunity to travel nationally and Internationally, making many friends along the way.

I am best know for my designs of our unique Australian flora and fauna through Express Publications - Australian Decorative Painting magazine, in which 25 of my designs have been published. Painting murals and animal portraits, especially dogs, is a great passion. My fine art is painted under my non de plume of Siani Walsh.

Over the years I have had great success with my unique designs winning awards at major shows, and The Award of Excellence in Sydney, as well as many fine art exhibitions for my landscapes and animal portraits.

My favourite medium is Matisse Acrylic Flow and Structure paint, and I am a Matisse Consultant for Matisse products. I also enjoy painting in Art Spectrum oils, pastels, and watercolour. In my opinion, both brands of Matisse and Art Spectrum have the Australian colour range for painting our beautiful landscapes, seascapes, fauna, and flora.

Living in Katherine I am able to live a much more relaxed lifestyle, than in past years, and the inspiration from the landscape, fauna, and flora is never ending. My sons, Richard, 26, and Craig, 20, special friends, and furbabies are an important part of my life. My faithful old Rottie, Xena, with her unconditional love, keeps the pack in line. Devil dog, Sharny, who is either going into mischief or coming out of it, can always bring a smile to my face which lightens the spirit. Precious Misty, in her senior twilight years, sees very little, now, but knows all.

Due to health reasons, I only teach a few special small classes now, and am always ready to advise, or give a helping hand, to any artists in the area needing help.
